To prevent heel slippage it uses the same heel retention device that has worked well on its Wire Carbon models, but added some reflectivity to it for better visibility in the dark. The replaceable heel pad was redesigned for a little more walkability and weight saving. The Shot sits on its tried and true Vent Carbon Sole with the stiffness and closable ventilation we have grown accustomed to with Sidi. Luckily for us the fall bike show season has given us more of a look at how Sidi, the name synonyms with high end shoes, has improved on its prodigious footwear. Even more of a tease was seeing none other than Chris Froome wearing them at the Tour. This summer Sidi teased us with five short videos giving us a glimpse of its new shoe, the Sidi Shot. OPEN sunglasses will be available December, it has no website yet, so check out its facebook page for details. Its color options and frame were designed to go particularly well with Kask helmets, but there are enough intriguing features here that give these glasses merit no matter what helmet they are being worn with. It didn’t skimp on the optics either, the KOO OPEN uses an interchangeable Carl Zeiss lens. There are two versions of swiveling nose pads that come in the box to make sure the fit is comfortable regardless of nose shape. The arms have three settings which adjust the angle the lens sits on your face, swing that same adjustment point 180 degrees and the arms fold up flush with the frame for easy storage in a jersey pocket. Branded under its own name, KOO, the OPEN sunglasses offer a myriad of adjustability. This year it is entering the sunglass game to match its already reputable helmets. Italian helmet maker Kask has the distinction of being worn by the best of the best in the pro peloton in recent years.
